St Francis Dispensary is an independent registered charity (established in 1926) providing veterinary care for cats and dogs, with a focus on offering treatment “at affordable rates” for owners of limited means. The clinic appears set up mainly for routine, day-to-day veterinary care and common procedures (vaccines, microchipping, neutering), supported by in-house blood testing (Idexx haematology and biochemistry machine) and a diabetes clinic.

Went to this vet for years with my cat and they were always great. Moved to a different town and had to send his records over to a new vet. The staff here were so helpful and did it in a second!

Lovely staff. Came in with my dog wearing his muzzle (he eats everything and also gets over excited around other dogs) and there was no prejudice or fear, just questions to determine temperament. It is a small clinic so probably nest not to arrive too early. Parking is on street and limited.

St Francis is a god sent to animal owners. I brought my male kitten to the clinic this week to be neutered and they did such a great job. I was told by the female vet that my little one may be sleepy when he got home as sometimes they can be a little drowsy after surgery. HOWEVER, they did such an amazing job it’s like he never even got surgery. I was shocked. I was expecting a peaceful night, kick back my feet in the air and have the kitten sleep for the night - but in fact it was the complete opposite. The little one literally exhibited crazy behaviour, scaling up and down the curtains and having the zoomies all night, running all around the rooms, he was so hyper and energetic I was tired of looking at him and when I was about to fall asleep …. Well he decided to jump on my brand new flat screen tv and smashed it 😩 I’m guessing the anaesthetic was still wearing off 🤷♀️ He’s never touched my tv but it was a crazy night 😅🥹 I read up on it and apparently some cats go mad after after all he did get bits chopped I suppose 😇 the staff are so friendly and caring. If you go through any animal organisations channels you can get the cats microchipped while in surgery and they’re incredible prices, even if your not going through any organisations. They give you times to collect the animal, be sure to be there on time as it can get extremely busy and closes at 3pm for lunch until 4pm. And if you want definitely give the staff some biscuits, or sweets to say thanks as they really work hard.
