MyVet Lucan is part of the MyVet group (three clinics) and was originally opened in 2005 as Hermitage Vet Clinic by vet Liam Moriarty; a new veterinary hospital opened next door in June 2019. The clinic has a CT scanner on site, and multiple reviews describe referral cases involving CT imaging, abdominal surgery, oxygen support, and emergency procedures.
In the latest reviews available to us, owners repeatedly mention how the team handles urgent and end-of-life situations: getting pets seen quickly, using an oxygen tent for a cat in respiratory distress, and giving families time and privacy to say goodbye. Several reviews also mention keepsakes after euthanasia (paw prints/nose prints and fur), including personalised cards.
There is a clear split in owner experiences around pricing: one recent reviewer alleges a major dispute over what was agreed for an operation and describes unexpectedly high costs, while other reviewers describe staff discussing what is necessary now vs what can wait to avoid surprise expense.
Rating: 4.7 stars from 919 reviews.

Professional efficient vets without a doubt but 5 times the price for the same procedure as Kilkenny. They can't be trusted to prices for procedures. Agreed to a price with my wife for a complicated operation which thankfully our dog didn't need in the end. Then insisted we agreed to €2500 for the work they did. Even after listening to the phone call which they record where this price was agreed for the complicated operation. They ignored this and insisted we had aggred the fee no matter what they did, who would agreed to that. Then state €2500 was their base price for any referred consultation, madness. If you can go anywhere else do or expect a massive bill. Update: You could accept their response of you don't look at all the other previous 1 star reviews. They have two type of reviews customers who obviously are loaded and the rest of us. They lie and cheat on prices and I'm far from the only one. They know they have you over a barrel with a sick dog so just fudge and cloud the prices and after the fact you can do nothing about it. My advice record all phone calls on prices of all the options offered and get a definite price on each option. Best of luck

The best vets by far, my dog Zeus actually loves going to the vets because of how well he’s taken care of. And they don’t make me feel like an idiot when explaining what needs to be done for Zeus.

There isn't enough words to describe how much I recommend the guys in MyVet Lucan, in any of the locations to be honest. I've used MyVet for the last number of years for my yorkie, unfortunately he had to be put asleep at 15 last month. The guys in Lucan were so careful and thoughtful in the process. Allowed me to take my time before we said our final goodbyes. Maeve, who was our vet that day was amazing and really made the whole process so peaceful. They even sent out a personalised card with his paws/nose print and his hair after the fact. I couldn't recommend these enough! Appreciate all the work and care they've put in over the years💙❤️

There arent enough words to be able to describe how much I recommend MyVet Lucan and my love for the entire team. I registered my dog Harley there when we moved to Dublin in 2019, she'd surgery as a puppy and was always terrified of the vets as a result but the whole team from reception, nurses to the vets were always so kind and welcoming to her and always made such a fuss of her coming around for pets and cuddles that she absolutely adored going in, if we passed it on our walk she would be absolutely disgusted if we didn't go in so she could say hi. Unfortunately last month Harley did end up having emergency surgery and then because of her age declined and did a 2nd surgery which the team called and advised it would be not in her best interest to wake up. They did howeveer, take the time to close her back up and allowed me time with her for cuddles and there was no rush I just got to sit with her until I was ready (well readyish) for them to inject her. She was the handled with truly the most gentle and respectful care. From day 1 it was so refreshing to see everyone there just genuinely loved animals because they actually do care. Harley was on the full plan with dental which was absolutely incredible and anytime she had something that wasn't covered by the plan, each vet would always run through if they think its necessary immediately or if you can wait a couple months but obviously if something changed to book it in, knowing that if they recommended something they were doing it because it genuinely needs to be done and knowing its not just an extra needless cost makes such a huge difference. While I would throw every cent I had for my girl, the fact that the vets actually consider owners don't have €500-1000 to just drop with no warning which is an experience we had previously and lots of friends have had in other place is huge. We had seen most of the team over the 6 years she was registered and I never had a bad experience with a single one, they all loved on Harley as if she was their own, it is just so lovely to see people genuinely love what they do and as an owner the comfort knowing that they're in the job for the right reasons is so reassuring. The environment everytime was truly so warm and welcoming that if you want someone who will truly care for your family member like their own I would highly recommend. As I said I cannot sing their praises enough. I would also once again like to thank every single member of the team for the years that Harley was cared for and loved, she was such a happy dog and seeing how much she loved being there and comfortable she felt and how she was fussed over back, even if we were just in to pick up a bag of dog food was so wonderful. Truly from the bottom of my heart thank you all so much (apologies for the essay but they truly are that incredible.)

We brought our cat Ozzy to MyVet Lucan in an emergency. We had brought him to our local vet who treated us and our cat without any professionalism or kindness. They made little effort to run tests on him or treat him and very coldly told us that he was likely to die that night (Friday) and if he was still alive to bring him back on Monday. We rang MyVet Lucan who were able to give us an appointment for Ozzy in just over an hour. Every interaction with them showed complete professionalism and care. The receptionist came out to our car to rush Ozzy inside and he was placed in an oxygen tent. The receptionist was incredibly kind to us, finding us a private room to sit in because we were so upset. The vet who looked after Ozzy spoke to us with compassion and professionalism, calmly explaining the situation and laying out our options. She even stayed an extra half hour after her shift ended so that she could give us an update on Ozzy. Unfortunately, we had to put Ozzy down that night. The vet who I spoke to on the phone to make that decision was also incredibly kind and gentle. The staff was kind and helpful in making arrangements for cremation. They also gave us paw prints they had taken and little vials of our cat’s fur. We didn’t have to ask for any of this, they just did it. The experience of watching our cat’s rapid decline and our treatment by our local vet was incredibly traumatic. MyVet really provided care and compassion and made the situation much easier to cope with. We are incredibly grateful to them for taking such good care of us and our cat.

My dog Seven was referred to Lucan, we had a CT scan and also an abdominal surgery. Now Seven has pretty much recovered. The main doctor is a really nice guy,he was super kind and friendly to Seven, and also he is very professional and helpful. I’m so sorry I forgot his name, but I’m really grateful for everything he did for my dog, and also for all the staff at Lucan.

Excellent vet. Waiting room is spacious and has different sections for the pets not to get on top of each other and its spotless. All the staff are so nice and friendly. The vet was very good with my dog, he is quite big and can look very scary, he also is very anxious and the vet was so patient and understanding with him.

As our own vet was closed on a Sunday, I rang the Emergency ‘My Vet’ in Lucan, explaining that our dog had major problems breathing. They could not have been more accommodating and caring. The secretary advised us to bring the dog in straight away, where we were shown to one of the private examination rooms, while the vet took our dog immediately to check him out. Unfortunately, Ozzie passed away, but the care that the team showed him, and us as a family, was quite remarkable. And this morning in the post, I was blown away by a card with the loveliest sentiments including Ozzie’s paw print and some of his fur in a little bottle I could not recommend this veterinary practice enough. They went above and beyond our highest expectations.
