Vets in Blanchardstown, Dublin
Blanchardstown Veterinary Hospital AVG appears to operate as part of the Anicare Vets group (referenced on the clinic’s website content). The practice is certified by the Practice Accreditation Board of the Irish Veterinary Council. From owner reports, it handles both cats and dogs, including long-term chronic care (for example, regular Librela injections for arthritis in a senior dog) and end-of-life support (euthanasia support for a cat). The premises are described as having separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, and a separate cat consult room is also mentioned, which some owners say helped keep pets calmer.
Review signals are mixed: many describe thorough explanations (especially around vaccination plans for kittens) and not being pushed into extra costs, while several 1-star reviews allege serious issues around consent, clinical notes, and handling of urgent situations and deceased pets.
Services and capabilities explicitly mentioned include
4.7 stars from 479 reviews. - Clear explanations and ongoing care: Several owners describe detailed guidance (notably around kitten vaccinations) and long-term management for older pets (including regular Librela for arthritis).

Exceptional clinic with the best care for your pet, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been coming here with both a cat and dog, for 10 years, my cat was old and I lost him along the way, but he was looked after so well here, I knew they did everything they could for him and I was very lucky to find them to have him as long as I did. My dog, a rescue, at 4 years old, has not been without issues along the way as not a great start to life, but she is so well looked after here, constantly getting a full check up, on them, not requested, as getting her librela for arthritis regularly, is thriving at 13 years old now. I cannot recommend this clinic more to people, Fintan and team go above and beyond for you and have a real genuine love for all your four legged family members.

If I could give Anicare minus ten I would. Warning! Always ask for the clinical notes after every visit and go over them carefully and if your pet is having a scan or other procedures ask lots of questions such as what they can rule in or out and make it clear they only have permission to do that procedure and nothing else. I found out too late that between Glasnevin and Blancharstown they had lied to me, lied about me in the clinical notes, lied about what I had agreed to and lied about the substantive issues raised and discussed during consultations. One vet made up and wrote into the clinical notes a whole phone consultation that never took place. By some amazing coincidence this fake clinical note mentioned "further testing and FNAs" something that had never been discussed with me but which David Hurley performed on my pet without my permission after I had asked him "is that everything today?" referring to the scan. This tells me they had intended to do all this invasive testing but kept it from me. Of course the bill that day was double. This is only a small example of the ongoing fakery this con team engaged in. My cat was in a terrible state when I brought him home from the scan David Hurley performed and I couldn't understand how a scan could have such a bad effect. It was only after I made a complaint he admitted he had done multiple of these FNA procedures when he told me he had done 1 (without my permission). Each one can involve multiple passes of the needle. My poor pet was treated like a pin cushion I would never have agreed to it. During the complaint process David Hurley wrote that FNAs"can be inconclusive anyway". Talk about twisting the knife in the wound. These people are greedy, callous and dishonest.

We have been loyal clients of this veterinary clinic for over 15 years — but after what we've just experienced, I will never go back. While we were away on holiday, our 3-year-old dog, Tod, passed away suddenly and traumatically. I rang the clinic and specifically asked for paw prints and hair clippings before he was sent for autopsy and cremation. These were incredibly important to us — a small way to hold on to a part of our boy. I followed up again the week we got home, just to see if it might be possible to get a nose print too. I was told someone would call me back. They didn’t. I had to chase twice before I finally got an answer — that he had already been cremated (which I understood), but that no paw prints or hair clippings had been taken either. Then came the excuses. I was told UCD “don’t do it,” that our dog was “never with them,” which is completely false — our friend personally brought him to Anicare. When our friend brought Tod to Anicare (which they told me to do on the phone) he was informed "We dont deal with dead dogs". Not only was there no apology, but the man on the front desk spoke with zero compassion, as if none of this mattered. It was deeply upsetting and completely disrespectful. What made this worse is that we have four other dogs at home. We were terrified something contagious or environmental had caused Tod’s death. When our second youngest began showing similar symptoms — and knowing Tod had died in less than an hour — we called in a panic. They told us they might be able to see him later that evening. That kind of delay could have cost us another life. Thank God for Village Vets on Clonsilla Road, who took our concerns seriously, acted quickly, and treated us — and our dog — with real compassion. They saw him immediately. It was everything this clinic failed to do. And honestly, this wasn’t the first time they showed a lack of care. A few years ago, after our cat was hit by a car, I came in to see her body — and one of the vet nurses laughed and said, “Yous don’t have the best of luck with animals, do yous?” That moment has stuck with me ever since, and now I wish we’d trusted our instincts and left them then. If you want a veterinary clinic that truly cares about animals — and the people who love them — I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. For this clinic, it seems like money is the only real motivator. We will never forgive how our family was treated during one of the worst weeks of our lives.

We took our baby kitten Millie to Anicare vet for the first time. The location is conveniently nearby, which is a big plus. The entrance has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff at the reception were friendly; they also have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, which is nice. Dr. David was very compassionate and provided thorough explanations regarding Millie’s current vaccinations and what’s needed in the future. I would gladly recommend Anicare vet.

Stay away : Took our little kitten for an urgent care visit ( infected with ringworm ) the vet took him to check him , went in the back and said he used a UV light and came back unsure , it could be ring worm , or fungal or bacterial infection…. Was told to put some cream and it should get better . Never told us or closely inspected where his infections were or showed us also aside from the one we had noticed ourselves. We decided this wasnt good enough and visited another vet the next morning and immediately as the other vet put a UV light on him said this little guy has Ring worm in 5 places and showed us as well under the light. We were later told the kitten needs immediate antibiotics at a lower dose or his infections can spread further and become worse , the cream would not have helped in this case and we would have never known how badly he was infected Dissatisfied and low experience

My First Visit with my 13 yr old sick cat and staff were very friendly, helpful and respectful and supportive when it came time to put my fur-baby to sleep. They have a separate cat waiting area and Consultant Room to help keep your animal calm and away from dogs.. They made it so much easier at a sudden Difficult Time. I would Highly recommend them to anyone for the care and professionalism .. Thank You Girls
