I attended the clinic this morning with my cat cleo..I bring her in to get her nails clipped every 8-12 wks. When they brought her back out I got a lecture from the young girl that her nails were very bad .& I need to get them done every month. That they had to clip very short & that her nail bed was bleeding!! My cat is a 16 Yr old house cat & I've have Brought all my animals there for over 20 yrs .but I will not be using this vets anymore .I actually felt she was implying I was neglecting my much loved cat . I came out very shocked & angry .

I have thought long and hard about this review. I began attending Anicare with my cat approximately 2 years ago. He was diagnosed with CKD at a different vet practice. Fast forward to 2025 when his health started to really decline. We were attending Cormac as the previous Vet had moved to a different practice. Our cat was coming towards the end of his life and we were attending the vet’s a little more frequently and then got the news that Cormac was moving to another clinic. We booked a medication review for our cat. The vet that we saw that day suggested he have a full set of bloods done. I agreed with this. The consultation that day made it clear to me that our cat was actively dying and he had more than likely progressed to lymphoma. We went off with our new medication plan and a plan was made to do another set of bloods in 2 weeks to see if the anemia he was presenting with had worsened. That evening we decided that it was time to let him go. I called the practice the next day to inform the vet that we had seen the day before of our decision and to cancel the appointment for the bloods in 2 weeks. I actually spoke to the vet on the phone at this time. I was disappointed that there were no words of consolation given when I informed the vet that we were having him PTS. The only time there seemed to be some sort of concern was when I informed her that I was using an at home vet service to have him PTS. In the next 2 weeks my partner went to the vet once to swap out food we had for a different flavour and informed staff on the desk of the date we were having our cat PTS. The weekend we had him PTS I called the day before the next payment was due for the veterinary pet plan. The girl on the phone said that the person who deals with accounts would have logged out by then as it’s Friday but, they would get to it on Monday. I informed them at this time that we were having our cat PTS the next day just so that they were aware of why we were closing the account. She said she was sorry to hear that. Roll on Monday and my partner got a call from the accounts person who couldn’t have apologised enough for calling us about the account cancellation when they learned we had our cat PTS 2 days prior. They said that there was no note left on the account that we were having our cat PTS and that he would never have called had he known. It is now a month later. We haven’t had any sort of communication from the vet practice. As a nurse myself I would have thought it would be normal protocol to reach out and offer condolences after a pet has been PTS particularly when they have been a patient at a practice for a period of time. 3 different members of staff were informed of our plans. I’m very disappointed and it just makes the experience feel very transactional & not at all caring

Exceptional clinic with the best care for your pet, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been coming here with both a cat and dog, for 10 years, my cat was old and I lost him along the way, but he was looked after so well here, I knew they did everything they could for him and I was very lucky to find them to have him as long as I did. My dog, a rescue, at 4 years old, has not been without issues along the way as not a great start to life, but she is so well looked after here, constantly getting a full check up, on them, not requested, as getting her librela for arthritis regularly, is thriving at 13 years old now. I cannot recommend this clinic more to people, Fintan and team go above and beyond for you and have a real genuine love for all your four legged family members.

If I could give Anicare minus ten I would. Warning! Always ask for the clinical notes after every visit and go over them carefully and if your pet is having a scan or other procedures ask lots of questions such as what they can rule in or out and make it clear they only have permission to do that procedure and nothing else. I found out too late that between Glasnevin and Blancharstown they had lied to me, lied about me in the clinical notes,lied about what I had agreed to and lied about the substantive issues raised and discussed during consultations. One vet made up and wrote into the clinical notes a whole phone consultation that never took place. By some amazing coincidence this fake clinical note mentioned "further testing and FNAs" something that had never been discussed with me but which David Hurley performed on my pet without my permission after I had asked him "is that everything today?" referring to the scan. This tells me they had intended to do all this invasive testing but kept it from me. Of course the bill that day was double. This is only a small example of the ongoing fakery this con team engaged in. My cat was in a terrible state when I brought him home from the scan David Hurley performed and I couldn't understand how a scan could have such a bad effect. It was only after I made a complaint he admitted he had done multiple of these FNA procedures when he told me he had done 1 (without my permission). Each one can involve multiple passes of the needle. My poor pet was treated like a pin cushion I would never have agreed to it. During the complaint process David Hurley wrote that FNAs"can be inconclusive anyway". Talk about twisting the knife in the wound. These people are greedy, callous and dishonest.
